Seville was an amazing experience due to the work, the culture and the people that I went with. Loads of talented street performers like an artist who used chalk to make detailed images of celebrities. My highlight of the 2 weeks was going to play football as this allowed me to make friends with the rest of the people. In our free time we explored around the city, everywhere was beautiful. I went to see both football stadiums. My biggest learning experience is now knowing what to do if the wall becomes damp. This included taking plastering off the wall and then putting chemicals inside of the wall. Doing this I was in a group of three and someone to supervise us as we have never done anything like this before.
I had many interesting social experiences but the one that stands out and happened on numerous occasions is going into a restaurant and the waiter not being able to speak English as well as us not being able to speak Spanish it was quite awkward trying to order food and ask for the bill. What made the experience even better was the people I went with as they were very friendly, and this allowed us to do things like bowling and going to play football. To deal with these awkward social experiences we were set to do Spanish lessons so we could learn new phrases so we could answer accordingly. I feel like the time overseas will help me because it allowed me to view other trades and from my course aspect, we made a presentation about changing a school into a safer and more sustainable place.
Javi wrote a reference for our future. This reference can help me get an apprenticeship in the future, which will further my career in my specialism. After this great experience I plan to carry on with my course and work placement and after that I plan on getting an apprenticeship.
