A vast number of projects

I had not visited Seville before and what a great city which is easy to get around and explore. I fully enjoyed my time in Seville and met a lot of great people who helped me adapt. I liked living abroad and travelling and Erasmus gave me this opportunity.

I was at first nervous and Harry helped me adapt on my second day I was working with Juan and Ania in the office trying some Spanish on visitors.

After two days I was learning new skills and developed my communication skills the team at 3sI and Natureway were all supportive and funny they took me out around the city and involved me in the demonstration and city tours.

I would recommend ERASMUS to all students and encourage them to learn Spanish before they travel. Seville is fantastic full of interesting sites and history where a lot of films took place like Star Wars and Game of thrones.

The trip gave me a lot of confidence and developed my life skills I felt I have developed better work skills.

Natureway

I was working at Natureway with Chris and Harry from Leicester College and we supported each other in Seville becoming good friends. the opportunity to live away from home was amazing experience which gave me a lot of confident and help me develop my life skills, I would sometimes cook for us all and try to make Tapas.

During our stay we met a lot of great Spanish people and once a week would meet up with Erasmus students and Spanish students to learn Spanish and try and teach English.

The team at Natureway were great support and nothing was too much. They showed us around Seville and encouraged us to speak Spanish while communicating with tourist.

The trip was amazing and gave us a great insight into the Spanish Culture.

When I returned to the UK I put this on my CV and have now found a full-time job the employer was very impressed when I shared my work experience with them.

The main highlight from this trip was learning the Spanish language and the culture of the Spain. In addition, I wanted to improve my self-confidence when talking with other people and I am sure I have now improved after the trip was over.

My biggest experience there was to work in a team and on-site which I have never did in my life and it was actually a good experience working on a site and abroad. Even though learning Spanish was a little tough it was a good experience learning the simple words and talking with the people.

My main highlight from this trip was learning the Spanish language and culture and I like it. I enjoyed a lot to work in a team. I improved myself and I gained a lot of new experience and skills.

My biggest experience I had was to live alone away from my family abroad and learning new language to communicate with Spanish people.

My biggest learning experience was when we started to do the drawing and learning how the Spanish people do their blueprint compared to us and the way we do. The ways are really different but I enjoyed it and I love drawing. Then after we came onto doing the practical, I personally love practical over anything like I’m really good at it because I understand it faster and we plastered, painted and replaced bulbs for the Florissant lights. I had a great experience.

The Spanish people I spoke to in Spain were really nice kind and respectful I tried to speak Spanish here and there whenever I could and let’s say that didn’t go well enough but I loved it. Everywhere I went I used google translate and it all worked out well. In Spain the social life is really similar to the UK but I say much safer and better.

The Work was excellent and I enjoyed leading the team and producing a winning project bid, when on site it was a real experience to put into practice what we were learning and use industrial tools , the site induction was clear and the Spanish use different systems sometimes which is good to see it helps you to reflect on what is the most efficient way

The main highlight for me was going to a Real Betis football game. The atmosphere was incredible and the players played some champagne football winning 4-0..

Seville and Lebrija are very clean cities and the work we did helped me to develop my site skills.

Next for me is to complete all my qualifications and become fully qualified I would like to travel the world then and someday hope to work abroad.

Seville was an amazing experience due to the work, the culture and the people that I went with. Loads of talented street performers like an artist who used chalk to make detailed images of celebrities. My highlight of the 2 weeks was going to play football as this allowed me to make friends with the rest of the people. In our free time we explored around the city, everywhere was beautiful. I went to see both football stadiums. My biggest learning experience is now knowing what to do if the wall becomes damp. This included taking plastering off the wall and then putting chemicals inside of the wall. Doing this I was in a group of three and someone to supervise us as we have never done anything like this before.

I had many interesting social experiences but the one that stands out and happened on numerous occasions is going into a restaurant and the waiter not being able to speak English as well as us not being able to speak Spanish it was quite awkward trying to order food and ask for the bill. What made the experience even better was the people I went with as they were very friendly, and this allowed us to do things like bowling and going to play football. To deal with these awkward social experiences we were set to do Spanish lessons so we could learn new phrases so we could answer accordingly. I feel like the time overseas will help me because it allowed me to view other trades and from my course aspect, we made a presentation about changing a school into a safer and more sustainable place.

Javi wrote a reference for our future. This reference can help me get an apprenticeship in the future, which will further my career in my specialism. After this great experience I plan to carry on with my course and work placement and after that I plan on getting an apprenticeship.

Seville was overall amazing. the culture, the people, and the sights make it a truly unforgettable experience.

Exploring the beautiful city was my highlight of the trip, from the Plaza de España to the Alcázar of Seville. Around every corner you can’t help but bump into the historical buildings and landmarks just a stone’s throw away from each other.

Working with fellow students to replace the lights and to create a presentation on how to improve the OC Languages academy helped me not only to improve my confidence, but to also improve my team working, digital, and presentation skills.

Furthermore, I believe that the time overseas will also help me professionally as I have proven that I can withstand an extended period of time away from home and adapt to my surroundings.
